Baker McKenzie’s partner and Head of Tax in Johannesburg, Stephan Spamer, has received a 2018 Client Choice Award in the Corporate Tax category, South Africa. Spamer specialises in all aspects of international tax, with emphasis on M&A, international double tax agreements and exchange control regulations.
Unlike other awards, winners can only be nominated for the Client Choice Awards programme by corporate counsel, and this year Client Choice received over 2,500 nominations. Spamer won the award based on excellent reviews from his clients.
Spamer and his team in Johannesburg form part of Baker McKenzie’s global tax practice, which is one of the most highly-regarded tax practices in the world and is ranked Band 1 by Chambers Global.
The team’s experience in international and cross-border tax issues in Africa has proven to be invaluable to the firm's clients as they negotiate the myriad of tax laws and regulations affecting businesses operating in Africa.
