International Chamber Of Commerce
The International Chamber of Commerce is a global business organisation that represents enterprises from all sectors in every part of the world. Headquartered in Paris, France, the ICC serves as the institutional representative of more than 45 million companies in over 100 countries. The organisation promotes international trade, responsible business conduct and a global approach to regulation through a unique mix of advocacy, solutions and standard setting. The ICC operates the world's leading private-sector dispute resolution institution, the International Court of Arbitration, which administers cases involving parties from multiple jurisdictions and provides arbitration and alternative dispute resolution services for cross-border commercial disputes. It also develops widely adopted rules and standards for international trade, including the Incoterms rules that define responsibilities of buyers and sellers in international transactions. The ICC works closely with the United Nations, the World Trade Organization and other intergovernmental bodies to ensure that business perspectives inform global policy-making. National committees and groups in major economies coordinate the ICC's work at country level and provide members with access to international networks and expertise. The organisation was founded in 1919 in the aftermath of the First World War to promote peace through economic cooperation and has since evolved into the principal voice of world business.
