The Minister of Mineral Resources (“Minister”) has, by notice in the Government Gazette, indicated her intention to, in terms of section 49(1) of the MPRDA, impose a prohibition on the granting of all new applications for prospecting rights, mining rights, reconnaissance permissions and mining permits in terms of section 16, 22, 74 and 27 respectively of the MPRDA in respect of the farms Rotondo 1093, Klein Poortje 1077, Klein Poortje 1052, Poortje 38 and Mooiplaas 1087, District Rouxville, Free State.
Representations from stakeholders on the proposed prohibition can be submitted in writing to the Director-General of the Department of Mineral Resources for the attention of the Chief-Director: Legal Services by no later than 21 days after publication of this notice (ie. 9 November 2012).
