Eight directors of Intellectual Property Law firm, Adams & Adams, will be participating in the South African chapter of the 702 Sun International CEO SLEEP OUT with the aim of raising close to R1 million for charity.

The Chairman of Adams & Adams, Gérard du Plessis, along with seven of the law firm’s directors will be sleeping on the pavements of Gwen Lane in Sandton, Johannesburg, on 18 June as part of the drive to raise money for Girls and Boys Town.

What makes Adams & Adams participation in the project stand out is that the firm is also providing the intellectual property protection for this initiative.

“Following filing of the trade mark applications for the marks THE CEO SLEEP OUT and THE CEO SLEEP OUT Logo, Adams & Adams was asked to be the exclusive legal partner of the project providing all legal services relating to or arising from the project,” says du Plessis.  “We recognised the potential of the project and Adams & Adams accepted the offer.  The firm’s Corporate Social Investment programmes are a fundamental component of our commitment to social upliftment and empowerment, as is the sustainability of the environment.  Our involvement in THE CEO SLEEPOUT is an extension of this focus.”

The firm has also been involved in the drafting of the sponsorship agreements between The CEO SLEEP OUT Trust and the various sponsors of the project.

In addition to this Adams & Adams has established and applied for registration of The CEO SLEEP OUT Trust.

Other actions include the drafting the agreement between The CEO SLEEP OUT Trust and the sole beneficiary of the project Boys and Girls Town as well as drafting the website terms and conditions.
