Education activist Hendrick Makaneta has hailed Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi for the great progress that he has made and continues to make in the terrain of education, particularly in the Gauteng province. This follows reports that the Deputy Public Protector Advocate Kholeka Gcaleka has found that MEC Lesufi was not involved in the procurement of a thirty million rands “express tender” that was awarded in twenty-four hours. 

“We knew all along that MEC Panyaza Lesufi is a man of great integrity. For many years Lesufi dedicated his life to the noble cause of building a united, non-racial, non-sexist, and democratic society. Lesufi has distinguished himself as a caring leader who has become a symbol of the great sacrifices made by men and women who want to improve education for the general wellbeing of an African child.”

Humanity should not forget the role that Lesufi has played and continues to play in the advancement of quality education particularly in schools from poor communities.

There is no other province that can boost of the commitment and availability of educational resources like Gauteng. It is not surprising that many learners and parents continue to flock from other provinces into Gauteng in search of better education for their children and all these things can be attributed to the great work that was put in by MEC Lesufi.
