With its 2026 Manifesto the Freedom Front Plus (VF Plus) is drawing a line in the sand. South Africa has had enough.

Over the past few decades, misguided priorities and policy directions, incompetent officials, corruption and a lack of accountability have forced our municipalities to their knees. Residents, and especially loyal ratepayers, are paying the price for local authorities’ failures.

Municipalities are the building blocks of a prosperous country. If our municipalities fail, South Africa fails.

Residents should have more say in their communities. Infrastructure should be repaired and expanded. Residents deserve affordable municipal rates and taxes. Tax money should go towards service delivery – not to remunerating officials who cannot or will not do their jobs.

Who will get it done?

The Freedom Front Plus will keep fighting until communities are afforded more powers and local economies grow through job creation. Local government should be local.

The party’s Manifesto offers a practical ten-point plan to make municipalities work for us again.

The Freedom Front Plus has a plan. It is our time to put that plan into action.
