Here is an update on the R19.2 million grant funding by National Lotteries Commission to Inqaba Yokulinda civil action instituted by the SIU in the Special Tribunal.

Beneficiaries of the National Lotteries Commission (NLC) grant funding have failed to stop the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) from taking civil action against them. On 3 January 2023, the Special Tribunal dismissed with costs applications by Inqaba Yokulinda and others to reconsider preservation order freezing luxury cars and a house, and to strike out SIU’s application to review and set aside the R19.2 million grant funding and recover financial losses suffered by the State.
