On the 25th of April, and subsequently on the 28th of April 2022, National Education, Health and Allied Workers’ Union (NEHAWU) through its Secretary General launched a smear campaign against CETA and its CEO.
CETA management wishes to respond to the allegations as follows:
1. CEO deliberately distabilising the institution- It has only been 6 months since the CEO was appointed and the focus at this stage is to stabilise and improve performance post-Administration. This is demonstrated by appointment of capable, competent and experienced Executive and Senior Management.
2. Poor governance – Policies, procedures and governance charters have been reviewed and implemented for both projects and procurement bid awards. This includes Committees that independently evaluate proposals and make recommendations to the CEO for approval. The Institution has a functional Audit and Risk Committee consisting of independent members and a robust Internal Audit function.
