Parliament notes the judgment handed down today by the Western Cape High Court concerning the President's application relating to the National Assembly's impeachment process.

The Court has ordered that, pending the hearing and finalisation of the President's application, Parliament is interdicted from proceeding with the public impeachment process.

The Speaker of the National Assembly will study the judgment carefully, together with the reasons of the Court, to determine its implications for the work currently being undertaken by the National Assembly in relation to this matter.
