This announcement aligns with the SIU's communication policy, which permits the Head of the SIU to delegate spokesperson responsibilities. Within this framework, Mr Makgotho, a senior manager at the SIU, has been entrusted with this important role.

Mr Makgotho brings a wealth of experience to his new position. He previously served as the inaugural Spokesperson for the Special Tribunal upon its establishment in 2019, where he demonstrated excellence in legal research, stakeholder relations, and public communication. As a

trained lawyer, he has also been engaged in corporate communication and liaison services.

The SIU extends a warm welcome to Mr Makgotho in this capacity and looks forward to his continued contributions towards enhancing the Unit's communication and engagement with both the public and the media.
