South African Travel Journal is an interactive guide designed to inspire children aged 7–12 to explore South Africa in a fun, meaningful, and memorable way.
Part travel companion, part activity book, and part keepsake, the journal encourages kids to become active participants in their adventures. With creative prompts, maps, wildlife checklists, journaling pages, and reflection exercises, children are guided to notice the details, stories, and experiences that make South Africa unique.
From safaris and beaches to mountains, local food, languages, and conservation, the journal invites kids to draw what they see, record wildlife sightings, capture funny travel moments, and practise gratitude along the way.
Unlike traditional activity books, this journal is experience‑led and rooted in real family travel. It appeals to both South African families and international visitors seeking a more engaging and educational way for children to connect with the country.
There are 126 full‑colour pages, four weeks of creative prompts and journal pages, interactive safari content and wildlife checklists, maps, road‑trip games, puzzles, scavenger hunts, and colouring activities – the ultimate screen‑free fun for every in‑between moment.
Local Collaboration
This edition features collaboration with Lewyn Maefala, founder of the Bush Babies Project and part of Transfrontier Africa, the organisation behind the pioneering all‑female anti‑poaching unit, the Black Mambas. Lewyn’s expertise in conservation education ensures the safari and nature content is authentic, inspiring, and deeply connected to South African wildlife.
