ActionSA demands that the Minister of Police and the National Commissioner urgently intervene and present a clear plan of action to ensure that the perpetrators responsible for the murders of six women are arrested and brought to justice.
South Africans are gatvol of watching women being murdered while government responds with statements, condolences and excuses. These are six women whose lives were taken, six families who are now grieving, and a nation demanding answers.
The Minister of Police and the Commissioner was quick to spend R600 million on the March and March movement, but when it comes to protecting South African women and citizens, it always gets the back end of the stick. This is unacceptable and can't continue to be the state of affairs.
ActionSA demands that within 48 hours, the Minister and National Commissioner provide a clear account of:
- What is being done to identify and apprehend the perpetrators?
- What resources and specialised units have been deployed to the investigation?
- What concrete steps are being taken to ensure these murders do not go unanswered?
ActionSA will begin mobilising South Africans to exercise their constitutional right to peaceful protest and demand action, accountability and consequences. We will not accept a government that expects families to bury their loved ones while criminals remain free.
