The South African Communist Party will be holding the Eighth Plenary Session of its Fourteenth National Congress Central Committee from Friday to Sunday, 7 – 9 June 2019. This will be the first quarterly meeting of the party’s highest decision making body, after the National Congress, following the May 2019 general election.
The meeting will therefore receive political and organisational reports assessing the election, Cabinet and provincial executive councils appointments and government policy direction in the advent of the results. The Central Committee will also evaluate the state of the SACP and the Alliance, and finalise preparations for the SACP Special National Congress.
The SACP invites the media to a photo session, meeting preview and post-meeting press briefing to communicate key outcomes.

SACP General Secretary Dr Blade Nzimande will present the post-Central Committee statement and together with Party Officials led by the Secretariat of the Central Committee take media questions.
