The Global Advisory Committee on Vaccine Safety (GACVS) was established in 1999 as an independent expert advisory body to WHO on policies and issues related to vaccine safety.

The 49th GACVS meeting, held in hybrid mode on 27–28 November 2025, brought together global experts to address a range of issues in vaccine safety. The key objective of the meeting was to provide updates and solicit feedback from GACVS members on key vaccine safety and policy issues that had been identified since the previous meeting of the Committee in May 2025.

A summary of the presentations and recommendations is provided below. The next meeting of GACVS, a joint meeting with the Advisory Committee on Safety of Medicinal Products (ACSoMP), will take place in Geneva on 23–26 June 2026.
