President Cyril Ramaphosa has declared a Category 2 Special Official Funeral to honour the late Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) Judge, Justice Fikile Eunice Mokgohloa, who passed away last week at the age of 65.

The funeral service will take place on Saturday, at the Hillsong Church in Wonderboom, in Pretoria, where she will also be laid to rest.

Mokgohloa served the South African nation and its judiciary over two decades.

Her notable career highlights includes her appointment as a Judge of the Supreme Court of Appeal in June 2019.

Mokgohloa served as the Deputy Judge President of the Limpopo Division of the High Court and as the Acting Deputy President of the SCA

Ramaphosa extended his condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the late judge, praising her immense contribution to jurisprudence and court administration.

"Judge Mokgohloa has left us at the pinnacle of her commitment to the rule of law and the administration of our courts," Ramaphosa said.

"Her legacy is entrenched in the many landmark judgments she delivered and in her exceptional judicial leadership."
