The DA takes note of the outbreak of service delivery protests in Lulekani township this morning.

While we understand the frustrations of residents with the appalling collapse of basic services in Lulekani, we encourage everyone in the community to use the power of their votes to install a new government in Phalaborwa led by the Democratic Alliance.

The most powerful way to protest against the ongoing service delivery failures by the Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality is to vote the ANC out of power in the upcoming local government elections.

There is no doubt today’s protest is the culmination of the ANC legacy of failure to provide basic services in Lulekani and surrounding communities.

It is high time that communities realise that while protests attract media headlines and may get some temporary service delivery interventions, the best way to bring change is to vote for a government that gets the basics right. And only the DA has proved that we get things done.
