Pan Africanist Congress of Azania (PAC) learnt with a great sadness the passing of the legendary photographer, Sam Nzima. The gallant photographer will be sorely missed for his humble personality that is so much prevalent for all those coming from his native Bushbuckridge district.
He made the world centre stage when he captured the moment of June 16, 1976, with his camera. He was hounded into oblivion by the security branch police in a racist apartheid South Africa. However he was steadfast and survived isolation and economic exploitation by his media house employers.
Bra Sam leaves a lasting symbol and national heritage for all the people of Azania. May his soul rest in peace. Hamba kahle Son of the Soil.
Comradely yours,
Issued by PAC
