We are less interested in renaming airports, we have at all material times campaigned for this country to be referred to its rightful name which is Azania. We are now defocused into fighting amongst ourselves about renaming airports which we fail to manage under the auspices of a failed state entity, SAA. We are made to focus on things that matter while we omit serious and sensitive issues.
Mainstream politics of this country was built around the agrarian question, it was because of the land issue that politics started to dominate our daily lives from 1652 until to date. Every sober political party today in our country are prioritising the LAND issue, the PAC was condemned and mocked for talking LAND language for many years ago.
The Pan Africanist Congress of Azania (PAC) is vindicated on the question of LAND. Because of empty egos, naturally people would not come to acknowledge that they were always wrong and that you were correct. Nonetheless, no one owe PAC but everyone who is alive is owing it to African ancestors to ensure that their death were not in vain.
There was a long resistance by our leaders against the conquerors who since stole our land and began to subject us to all forms of oppression as well as subjugation. The injustices and atrocities of the year 1652 have not been corrected even after more than 300 years.
Liberation movement was a phase of the broader struggle which have never been about some cheap human rights but our people have sacrificed their lives and comfort by waging war against the dispossession of our LAND.
The LAND issue is not an issue to be played with, it is a highly sensitive and emotional issue because many people sacrificed their own lives for. People like Hector Peterson, Onkgopotse Tiro, Sabelo Phama, David Sibeko, Steve Biko, Khotso Seatlholo, and many others died precisely for the LAND question. We must be very cautious when we deliberate on the LAND question because the topic is very sensitive and could not be used to crack cheap jokes.
PAC policy on LAND!!!
The PAC was formed in 1959 as a result of fundamental ideological differences with comrades that we used to share organisation with. Our former President, Zephania Mothopeng is reputable for having said that the PAC was formed in 1912 because we are the one who are still pursuing the real genuine agenda of 1912 which was aimed fundamentally at returning the LAND to its rightful owners, Africans.
We are seeing roundtables, discussions, debates which are featuring the elite group to talk about LAND while the PAC and traditional leaders are continuously excluded in such forums. We are not going to allow a situation whereby the dispossessed are deliberately mapped out of the LAND discussion in the same way in which the liberal sell-out CODESA talks where conducted..
The PAC in 1960 took a sober stance against the racist Apartheid regime when our combatants/dispossessed were gunned down. We were waging a fight against the injustice, we were in a bid to reclaim our LAND back. The PAC have always fought for the return of the LAND.
As a socialist-oriented organisation, it is not easy to exist within the lethal capitalist/liberal economic setup, we are met with the reality of parties having to fork out billions of money to convince the dispossessed to vote for us. It has not been easy to get more electoral support to be able to form part of greater mainstream political players.
The PAC have always remained independent from private funders while relying exclusively on IEC, parliamentary support as well as members to fund the programmes of the party. We have deviated at all material times to be "captured" because we have always feared to be diluted and swallowed into becoming another failed project which will be a lapdog of other bigger forces.
The question of LAND is sensitive not only to the dispossessed but also to big multinational entities who are continuing to exploit our human as well as our natural resources. We are made to believe today that the LAND is reduced to agricultural and residential purpose. The PAC understand the LAND referring to the air, space, oceans, mineral resources, people and everything which is encompassed in this LAND.
To our utmost knowledge, the LAND belongs to the dead, the living and the unborn. We know that the LAND is not a commodity to be bought and sold, its a spiritual asset that attach us to our ancestors. The LAND is meant to be used and not owned by anyone.
