While Nelson Mandela had Zelda La Grange as his personal assistant, Winnie Mandela had her PA, spiritual anchor and confidante in Zodwa Zwane. Now in a publishing coup, maverick publisher, Melinda Ferguson of Ride or Die Press, is proud to announce the arrival of My Boss, Mrs Mandela, in which Zwane breaks her silence on the decade she spent employed by Mrs Mandela before the Mother of the Nation died in 2018.

The book offers a rare, behind-the-scenes portrait of Mrs Mandela, during which time Zodwa Zwane walked beside her boss through scandals, heartbreaks, misunderstandings and eventual spiritual redemption. As Winnie's right hand, Zodwa managed not only her employer's diary, but also her secrets.

From the private rooms of Soweto to the corridors of power, Zodwa was witness, gatekeeper and loyal companion - holding her boss's hand right until the very end.

Written by celebrated writer and producer Percy Bonga Vilakazi with humour, candour and brand new insights, this remarkable memoir reveals the loyalty, conflict and sisterhood between the two women.

Part political history, part personal reflection, My Boss, Mrs Winnie Mandela cuts through the myth of Winnie Mandela to show her not only as a political icon, but as a strong, complex, sometimes wounded, but always fiercely loving woman.

It is a testament to faith, resilience, and the quiet strength of a woman who stood in the shadow of greatness and found her own meaning and light there.
