Lawyer Dali Mpofu was on Sunday nominated uncontested for the position of EFF national chairman at the party's national people assembly, held in Bloemfontein.

Mpofu was asked to stand up and indicate whether he accepted nomination.

"I, Dali Mpofu from Johannesburg region, accepts nomination," he said to a thunderous applause.

The more than 2600 delegates would vote for the top six positions of president, deputy president, secretary general, deputy secretary general,national chairperson and treasurer.

Results of the voting process are expected to be announced on Monday.
