Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry Lindiwe Hendricks this week urged international business to seriously consider South Africa as an investment destination, arguing that the country had positioned itself as is one of the world's most sophisticated and most-promising emerging markets.

“A combination of macro-economic and political stability, first-class infrastructure and a large market make for an exceptional investment environment.

“South Africa is investor friendly with a pent-up entrepreneurial spirit and a wealth of opportunities,” Hendricks said.

Speaking at the 16th International Engineering and Technology Fair (IETF) in India, where South Africa is the partner country, she also called on South Africa firms to take up the opportunity of show-casing their entrepreneurial and technological achievements in India and in the Asian region generally.

The Deputy Minister also highlighted the positive aspects of doing business in South Africa, saying that the county is one of the world's most sophisticated and most-promising emerging markets.
