Minister Ramatlhodi and KZN Premier to host a Small Scale Mining Imbizo

Mineral Resources Minister Advocate Ngoako Ramatlhodi (MP) and the KwaZulu-Natal Premier Senzo Mnchunu will host a Small Scale Mining Imbizo in Empangeni, KwaZulu-Natal on the 27th and 28th of August 2015.

The conference aims to support the development of Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs), in particular the Small Scale Mining and Mineral related initiatives. The Conference will focus on critical support mechanisms for SMMEs development such as policy and legislative support, skills development, financial support, market security, business discipline and current mineral development opportunities in the sphere of small scale mining. The Conference also presents a platform for government, business and other industry role players in the province to discuss issues of common interest in the development and economic advancement of small scale miners.

Stakeholders invited to make presentations at the conference include the Small Enterprise Finance Agency, SEDA, IDC, Small Scale Miners Forum and the Mining Qualifications Authority.

Members of the media are invited to attend the imbizo. The details are as follows:
