Members of the Agricultural Food And Allied Democratic Workers Union (AFADWU) are currently embarking on a strike action due to a wage dispute. Subsequent to the deadlocked wage negotiations, members went on strike from 05 October 2023 to date. 

Pioneer Foods Clayville is officially on strike from the 05th of October 2023, to date seeking for the employer to submit to their needs.

Pioneer Foods Clayville issues in dispute are as follows.

1. Salary dispute as workers were on 08% and the Employer was on 06% ATB

2. Equal pay for same-value job

3. medical aid is 100%subsidized by the employer for the whole family, the company is offering 50% for only the employees

4. Increase the bargaining scope

5. Policies that only apply to certain individuals

6. Position discretion because only certain individuals are allowed to act on positions

7. overtime is calculated at the admin rate

The night shift hasn't been allocated transportation

9. Leave days which are calculated at 1,5 for a single day taken

The strike is underway at unit5, Tile Crescent, Gauteng Industrial Estate, Gauteng Industrial Estate, Clayville,1666.
