The JB Marks Council extended special recognition to Aldermen Chris Landsberg and Chris Hattingh during yesterday’s ordinary Council meeting. See photo here.
Alderman Chris Landsberg was extended recognition for 40 years of service in Council on behalf of the community. Alderman Landsberg joins the ranks of one of the longest-serving Councillors in South Africa. During his career in service of the community, his commitment and dedication to the people of JB Marks have earned him respect across party political lines.
Alderman Landsberg played a major role in the many of the good attributes of our city that were put in place over the past four decades. The DA is proud to have him as part of our group of skilled and experienced public representatives and extremely grateful for his wisdom and role as an exceptional mentor to our younger and new Councillors. We hold the firm belief that our city will continue to benefit Alderman Landsberg’s vast experience and skills.
Alderman Chris Hatting received recognition for his long and dedicated service in public office. He continues to serve, bringing with him a depth of knowledge to the DA Caucus. He previously served the people of North West in the Provincial Legislature, and the National Council of Provinces. Alderman Hattingh has a firm understanding of the principles of cooperative governance and how the different spheres of government should function to ensure service delivery and an improvement in the quality of life of all residents.
Alderman Hattingh also served as the DA’s Provincial Leader in the North West. He has a firm appreciation of the challenges that persist in communities not only in our city but throughout the province.
The DA caucus in JB Marks is proud to serve the JB Marks community with the confidence of having these two exceptional and experienced leaders amongst us. We are also grateful for their dedicated service in public office.
Issued by Cllr Hans-Jurie Moolman - DA Caucus Leader: JB Marks Local Municipality
