While the nation observes a week of mourning for those who were affected by the devastating floods, the IFP reached out to affected schools in Durban this morning.
IFP leadership, led by its General Secretary of Administration, Mr Mfanje Mbango, and Members of Parliament Mkhuleko Hlengwa and Liezl van der Merwe, donated R10 000 to help the Inanda Day Primary School rebuild their roof which collapsed due to the heavy storms experienced in the province last week.
The IFP further donated school shoes, soccer kits and soccer balls to schools in Inanda - including Inanda Day Primary Uthando Primary and Mtapo High school.
The IFP reached out to assist learners and parents facing challenging times, not only because of the floods, but because of the economic crisis South Africa faces, which has pushed more and more families into poverty.
The schools that the IFP were able to reach today were extremely grateful for the donations and we call on each and every South African to assist in the spirit of ubuntu/botho were possible with relief efforts.
