The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Limpopo would like to congratulate Councillor Thane Hearne from the Thabazimbi Local Municipality for being elected as the new Municipal Speaker. Cllr Hearne will be replacing Dr Bertie Joubert who resigned recently.

Cllr Hearne was elected during the Special Council meeting which was held on Thursday. Dr Joubert resigned due to personal reasons and therefore we would like to thank him for the sterling job he did during his tenure as the Speaker and wish him the best in his future endeavours.

The DA is of the view that Cllr Hearne will pick up where Dr Joubert left off and ensure that services are accelerated to the people of Thabazimbi. The concerns of the people of the Thabazimbi will be her priority.

We wish Cllr Hearne the best on her new journey and have no doubt that she will do the DA proud and represent the people of Thabazimbi with distinction.

The DA will focus its work on ensuring the people come first and that quality services are delivered.
