It has been an exciting past few days for the Democratic Alliance in the Western Cape as the party set about announcing their mayoral candidates in all five of the B- municipalities across the province.
Today, on the final leg of the tour, the DA turned its attention to the small farming town of Rawsonville where, leading today's proceedings, was DAWC Leader, Albert Fritz, and deputy leader, Tertuis Simmers, who were accompanied by Federal Deputy Leader, Dr. Ivan Meyer and DA West Region Chairperson, Koos Steyn.
The message today was clear and simple: the DA remains the only party that can continuously uphold the highest levels of service delivery, keep corruption out and uplift communities. After what has been an intensive selection process, the party believes that they have identified the right candidates for the upcoming election.
The DA’s candidates for the following municipalities are as follows:
Cape Winelands district:
• Breede Valley: Antoinette Steyn
• Drakenstein: Conrad Poole
• Langeberg: Schalk van Eeden
• Stellenbosch: Gesie van Deventer
• Witzenberg: Barnito Klassen
• Cape Winelands district: Helena von Schlicht
West Cost district:
• Bergrivier: Ray van Rooy
• Cederberg: Josef Farmer
• Matzikama: John van der Hoven
• Saldanha Bay: Andre Truter
• Swartland: Harold Cleophas
