On 24 December 2014, in Government Gazette No. 38340, the Competition Commission published Draft Guidelines for the Determination of Administrative Penalties for Prohibited Practices (“Draft Guidelines”) for public comment. These Draft Guidelines were issued in terms of section 79(1) of the Competition Act No. 89 of 1998 (as amended) which allows the Competition Commission to prepare guidelines to indicate its policy approach on any matter falling within its jurisdiction
