City of Johannesburg is embarking on a pensioner rebates citywide drive, to assist pensioners to apply for pensioner rebates for residential properties.

The first pensioner rebate engagement will take place in the Roodepoort Basement Theatre on Monday, 26 June 2023. The City is calling on all qualifying pensioners who resided in the area to attend the registration drive to register to receive the benefits on their properties.

City of Johannesburg’s Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) responsible for Finance, Cllr Dada Morero, says the City wants to get as many as possible pensioners who qualify for the rebates to register.

“The pensioner rebates drive is part of our outreach programmes, where we bring our services closer to residents and ensure that they can access our services with ease. We want to go the extra mile for our pensioners in the City,” said Cllr Morero.

The City has given pensioners who own residential properties until 30 September 2023 to apply or re-apply for pensioner rebates benefits. Current benefits will lapse on 30 June 2023.
