Leading global law firm Baker McKenzie has appointed transactional, international, income, and general tax specialist Denny da Silva as a Senior Tax Advisor in its Johannesburg office, bolstering its cross-border tax capabilities and heeding growing client demand for tax expertise in Africa. Denny joined the firm on 4 May 2020, and will work alongside partner and Head of Tax Virusha Subban, VAT consultant Jana Botha and Tax associate Prenisha Govender, in the South African tax team.
Denny has many years of experience in transactional, international, income and general tax, with a particular focus on M&A and private equity. He also has extensive experience in the application of South African exchange control regulations. He is a graduate of the University of Johannesburg and holds an LLB, LLM in Corporate Law and higher diplomas in International Tax Law and Tax Law. He was previously a tax manager at ENSafrica.
