ActionSA calls on the Ekurhuleni City Manager, Katlego Lerutla, to effect immediate termination of the employment of suspended Ekurhuleni Deputy Chief, Julius Mkhwanazi.

Senior officials are entrusted with serving the public and must uphold the highest standards of conduct, integrity, and professionalism expected by the residents of Ekurhuleni.

Where that standard is not met, decisive action must follow without delay. The people of this city deserve an administration that is ethical, competent, and focused on service delivery, not one that protects individuals at the expense of the public. For too long, residents have been subjected to dysfunction, irregularities, and a culture of impunity.

ActionSA believes that accountability must start at the top. The City Manager has both the authority and the responsibility to act in the best interest of the city and its ratepayers.

Failure to do so further erodes public confidence and undermines efforts to stabilise governance and restore basic services.

We cannot continue to carry the cost of inaction while communities suffer. This demand is not about personalities. It is about principle.

It is about sending a clear message that no individual is bigger than the institution, and that public office is a privilege that comes with responsibility.

ActionSA will not relent in our call for a professional, capable, and corruption-free administration. The City Manager must act now in the interest of the people of Ekurhuleni.
