"Former president Chiluba has been summoned by the Taskforce to appear on Monday to assist with on-going investigations on the plunder of national resources," the Taskforce on Corruption said in a statement.
It did not give details of the fresh charges which Chiluba is facing.
Two weeks ago, President Levy Mwanawasa announced that Chiluba, who was in power for a decade until 2001, was being investigated for allegedly stealing government vehicles and was likely to be detained in jail because motor vehicle theft has no bail in Zambia.
Chiluba was scheduled to appear in court on Monday in a continuing trial in which he was jointly charged with former intelligence boss Xavier Chungu for allegedly stealing four million dollars.
"There is too much confusion concerning these cases. Chiluba is expected to appear in court and at the same time as the Taskforce the same day," said Emmanuel Mwamba, a Chiluba aide.
On April 26, Chiluba is again scheduled to appear in court for the trial in a case involving theft of 41 million dollars allegedly stolen from state coffers - Sapa-AFP.
