The Young communist of South Africa (uFasimba) has noted the weak Motion of no confidence submitted by COPE to parliament today. This comes as no surprise considering that COPE evidently is failing to cope with its internal affairs. Such theatrical behaviour affirms the opposition's weakness and inability to deal with core relevant issues that affect South Africans.
This publicity seeking stunt seeks to deviate the public's attention from the crumbling COPE house which is not only in tatters, but clearly confused about who should lead. This visionless, sorry excuse of a party, must first deal with its inconsistent PR office and work towards salvaging its fast diminishing public image.
According to research findings by research company Ipsos Markinor a reputable research company, President Jacob Zuma's popularity increased between April 2009 and the end of last year. South Africa in its entirety has seen a number of challenges, taking into consideration that the economy is still in its recovery phase.
COPE like most opposition parties, survives on equestrian tactics by continuously using the ANC as their band wagon when in dire need of some form of publicity. Until today, COPE has no solid plan of action, policies or any credible programme which speaks to bettering the lives of our people. The ANC is a tried and tested party which exists above individuals. It is the ONLY Liberation movement that has never been subjected to a life-long dictatorship on this continent. It is now approaching 100 years (century) of existence and COPE can barely survive a year let alone decades.
The ANC moreover has respected the Alliance relationship and continues to engage with its Alliance partners constructively on issues even when they differ. Our parliament is not in the business of entertaining bitter losers and will not be deviated in addressing critical issues which will assist in developing our country.
We humbly request that COPE first deal with internal matters and its chronic myopia before it can be taken seriously. As the YCLSA we are registering our motion of full confidence in the President as well as our revolutionary egalitarian movement, the ANC. We will continue to constructively criticise our movement and the President where necessary. COPE is evidently a right wing party which is in cahoots with the DA, hence they could agree on keeping a practise that exploits workers (Labour broking). COPE should refrain from raising frivolous issues and concentrate on the much needed resuscitation of their supposed party.
