The Young communist league of South Africa (UFasimba)has observed the tragedy that has displaced many Haiti citizens and brought about despair and instability in the country. The unimaginable horror is a living nightmare and no country should experience such destruction.

The international community has shown immense support and we commend South Africa in particular for the prompt response to the disaster and the rescue teams that have been there to support and assist the people of Haiti; working around the clock to rescue people that have been entrapped for days now. The YCLSA would like to pledge its support to the people of Haiti; our sincere condolences to the families that have had to endure tragic loss of their loved ones.

The people of Haiti are evidently not alone and we hope that they will get through this ordeal more unified as a country. Our prayers and thoughts are with them.
