Allow me to convey words of appreciation and congratulation on behalf of the Premier, the Government and the people of the North West Province on this important occasion of the launch of this collective Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) Project in the Agricultural sector, the first of its kind in the province.

Yesterday in Mafikeng, the Independent Development Corporation hosted the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Conference, also the first of its kind, where the Premier gave the keynote address.

In her address, Premier Edna Molewa charted the background of BEE and why the North West Province in particular needed to grow and diversify the economy through BEE initiatives.
