Trade unionists around the world are participating in events based on the primary global issue of safe and healthy work for all.
Events to commemorate those killed or injured at work will take place in several countries such Kenya, Estonia, Nicaragua and Malaysia to mark the 9th International Commemoration Day for Dead and Injured Workers.
International Labour Organisation (ILO) figures show that every year, over two-million people die from work related causes. This adds up to one death every 15 seconds.
The International Commemoration Day for Dead and Injured Workers is officially recognised in the Dominican Republic, Canada, Peru, Portugal, Spain, Taiwan and several other countries.
