The FF Plus has submitted a complaint, along with some exhibits, to the Public Protector, adv. Thuli Madonsela, to investigate the continual victimisation of whistle-blowers in the DA-controlled Midvaal municipality in Gauteng.
 
This follows on Mr. Corrie Peypers, who for the past ten years has been the chairperson of the Meyerton Golf Club, being increasingly victimised by the DA, since his election as an FF Plus council member in Midvaal in May 2011 and following the release of a public protector’s report.
 
The DA on a regular basis orchestrates, amongst others, actions against the Meyerton Golf Club in an attempt to get rid of Peypers.
 
Mr. Corrie Peypers was one of the whistle-blowers in the case which led to the publication of the report of the Public Protector on 8 November 2011 titled, “It can’t be right:  Remedying Self-interest in Midvaal”. This report found, amongst others, maladministration in the Midvaal Municipality and led to the firing of Mr. André Odendaal, an attorney and service provider of legal services to the Midvaal Municipality. Odendaal had previously been the chairperson of the DA in Midvaal.
 
An investigation by the Special Investigative Unit into alleged criminal offences in Midvaal, which was alluded to in the report, is at present continuing.
 
Odendaal was however recently, despite the findings of the Public Protector, re-appointed as a service provider of legal services to the Midvaal Municipality.
 
Odendaal also started a defamation case in 2011 against the FF Plus, as represented by Mr. Jaco Mulder MPL, Mr. Corrie Peypers and Mr. Kobus Hoffman, a former DA member of the mayoral committee on finance in Midvaal, following allegations having been made in the media of alleged maladministration and corruption.
 
There is a huge screw loose in Midvaal, Peypers says and despite the fact that the leadership of the DA, under the leadership of Helen Zille, have been sweeping this under the carpet since 2009, the truth will triumph very soon.
