The UDM notes the guilty verdict against former Police Commissioner Selebi.

Given the dubious character of many of the witnesses the verdict would not have been easy to reach. Many witnesses were not called and many unanswered questions remain - In light of the prominence of the accused, the public deserves to hear the full truth.

This case once again demonstrates the dangers of the ANC's deployment strategy which parachutes unqualified cadres into high positions where allegations of corruption and mismanagement soon surface.
