Ten children suffering from life threatening diseases are to benefit from the trade union UASA’s annual golf day this year.
The union has pledged a minimum of R70 000 to the Reach for a Dream Foundation after its golf event at the Eagle Canyon Golf Club in Honeydew, Johannesburg, this Friday.
Four Golden Lions rugby players and ex-players, Cobus (Baywatch) Grobbelaar, Willem Stoltz, Russel Winter and Herkie Kruger, as well as two members of the victorious Bizhub Highveld Lions cricket team, Gulam Bodi and Hardus Viljoen, will play along with the 120 confirmed guests, which also include actors and members of the South African Actor’s Guild Darren Kelfkens, Shaun V Fletcher, Altus Theart and Murray Todd. The latter are all UASA members.
As part of its social responsibility programme UASA reaches out to the less fortunate every year by pledging the profits of its golf event to various charities. Past beneficiaries have been, among others, CANSA and Abraham Kriel Childcare.
This event, one of our annual highlights, brings joy to those who need it most.
