This report from The Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity, an agency of the United Nations Environment Programme, finds that more than half of the CEOs surveyed in Latin America and 45% of their counterparts in Africa see biodiversity decline as detrimental to profits, compared with less than 20% in Western Europe, and that business leaders who do not include the sustainable management of ‘natural capital' as part of their strategies may be at a disadvantage in the global market.
