The Department of Employment and Labour, Mpumalanga Province through the Inspection and Enforcement Services (IES) together with Department of Home Affairs(DHA) and South Africa Police Service (SAPS) accompanied by Municipal Health Inspectors from the Bushbuckridge Local Municipality and the Nkomazi Local Municipality will embark on a two week long (04 September to 15 September 2023) inspections in Bushbuckridge and Malelane. 

The inspections will be targeting employers in the Agriculture, Manufacturing, Wholesale & Retail, Community, Forestry, and Hospitality sectors.

The inspections will be conducted by IES’s Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) inspectors along with officials from DHA and SAPS as well as municipal inspectors to gauge the level of compliance by employers and ensure full ambit of the law. 

The aim of the mission is to examine through inspections, the application of national labour standards as well as checking occupational health and safety compliance in workplaces. The inspection project is planned to take place as follows:

04 – 09 September 2023 in Malelane

11- 15 September 2023 in Bushbuckridge
