This joint report from the World Food Programme and the Food and Agriculture Organisation, states that 22 countries face protracted crises, including repeated food crises and an extremely high prevalence of hunger owing to a combination of natural disasters, conflict, and weak institutions. The report suggests that official assistance needs to refocus attention on longer-term solutions, whilst continuing to support life saving and livelihoods protection activities.
