Gauteng premier Mbhazima Shilowa will address the Gauteng Provincial Legislature today, marking the opening of the third term of the legislature.

Shilowa's speech will set the tone for the provincial government's key programmes and projects that will be undertaken during his second five-year term in office.

The premier will also reassure Gauteng residents of the Gauteng government's continued efforts to building stronger partnerships to create jobs and fight poverty.

Shilowa will speak at 10:30am and the address will be broadcast live at various Multi Purpose Community Centres, Johannesburg's Beyers Naude Square (Library Gardens), selected taxi ranks and railway stations.
