Sharon's plane touched down at Andrews Air Force Base just outside the US capital.
During his eighth visit to the White House since coming to power in March 2001, Sharon will hold talks with Bush and with Vice President Dick Cheney.
Sharon's visit to the US comes on the heels of a first visit by Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmud Abbas, who took office in late April 2003.
The Israeli premier, who might face his toughest White House visit to date, has announced a series of confidence-building measures to appease Washington, after Abbas demanded the Jewish state be pressured into implementing the roadmap for peace in the Middle East.
