Human Settlements Minister Tokyo Sexwale will meet 60 youth leaders in Johannesburg today as part of efforts to encourage increased youth involvement in human settlements development.

Sexwale has called a roundtable meeting with representatives of youth formations and political parties in preparation for a national youth summit on human settlements later this year.

The youth summit will form part of preparations for a national human settlements summit dubbed Human Settlements 2030.

Thursday’s meeting between Sexwale and the youth leaders will focus on ways of getting young South Africans involved in developing new ideas for housing and inner city development, and the upgrading of informal settlements.
