Senegal's economic growth is expected to jump to 10.1% in 2023 compared to 4.8% in 2022, driven by oil and gas production, Prime Minister Amadou Ba said in parliament on Monday.
The West African country has discovered offshore oil and gas reserves in recent years with volumes expected to rival some of the region's biggest producers.
The first offshore oil project is expected to come online at the end of 2023, and gas in early 2024, said Ba.
"A new era is opening before us, that of the production of oil and gas in our dear country," he said.
