SAS Isandlwana left Kiel in Germany on January 31. She stopped over in Brest, France, to pick up equipment before sailing to Algericas, Spain.
The vessel refuelled in Spain, giving the crew an opportunity for rest and recreation.
In Table Bay, the corvette will perform some manoeuvres in Table Bay before heading for False Bay and a rendezvous with other navy vessels at Simon's Town.
There, work would begin on fitting the weapon systems and combat suites.
The navy said good progress has been made in fitting out the first corvette, SAS Amatola, which arrived in November last year.
Their sister vessels, the SAS Spioenkop and the SAS Mendi, are still under construction in Germany.
Each corvette has an endurance of 28 days, a range of 6 200 nautical miles, a cruising speed of 20 knots and a maximum speed of 27-plus knots. – Sapa.
