The South African Communist Party Gauteng Province condemns and denounces in the strongest possible terms the Democratic Alliance's (DA) so-called "ratings" of Members of the Executive Council (MEC) released yesterday. The "ratings" provide a score out of ten on the annual performance of MECs in the ANC-led provincial government.

We reject and dismiss these "ratings" by the DA for the following reasons:
Firstly, the DA is a political party formed predominantly out of various disgruntled elements of the Apartheid government and white minority rule. The DA is a political party that is desperate to return our country to the past period of a vicious racial genocide and onslaught against Africans in particular and Blacks in general.

Members of the DA have been oriented and socialised along racial stereo-types and racial bigotries, thus feeding and benefitting from the very same system that the ANC has defeated and whose legacy the revolutionary movement is currently dismantling. We are therefore shocked that a political party of white supremacy and white minority rule can claim objectivity in evaluating the performance of the revolutionary forces that defeated the system that the DA desperately seeks to reinstate in a new form.

Secondly, we challenge the DA to come clean and open on the objective criteria and factors that they considered in scoring ANC MEC’s. We are convinced that given the historic evolution of the DA and its racial outlook, the criteria can only be derived from and based on racial stereotyping, prejudice and racial slander.

We are further convinced that the DA seeks to perpetuate and elevate white supremacy as the standard bearer, benchmark and best practice on clean administration and good governance. We reject with contempt this version of yet another round of a psychological genocide and warfare that everything seeks to suggest that white is good and everything black is bad. We reject this notion based on the fact that the only experience of governance that DA members have is that of white supremacy and white minority rule. We therefore challenge the DA to publish its criteria to refute our view.

Thirdly, we reject these so-called ratings on the grounds that they tend to personalise and scape-goat individual MEC's on the crises and contradictions of the Apartheid system that they desperately miss and need to feed their racial appetites. We also believe that MEC's work with a team of hard working government officials, many of them victims of the very same system that the DA so desperately seeks to reengineer in the new form. We reject this crude and cruel version of scape-goating based on racial stereo-typing.

Fourthly, we strongly dismiss these pathetic ratings on the basis that they completely and conveniently ignore the deep seated and embedded legacy of Colonialism of a Special Type (CST). We are strongly convinced that we will be failing in our revolutionary duty if we do not confront and challenge these racially charged ratings by the enemy of the people. By failing to expose the racial content and truth about these ratings, they may be seen as a yard stick for good performance and best standards.

We believe that members of the DA cannot have it both, that is, judge us both during Apartheid and in a democracy. This is without doubt unfair and unpalatable. We are convinced that "judging" us for the second time is even more painful and severe than when it was inflicted for the first time.

We are also concerned by both a positive or poor rating by the enemy of the revolutionary people. Either way of scoring is the same, constituting different sides of the same coin. We therefore urge our deployees and structures not to be distracted by these liquidationist tendencies of the DA as the political party of Apartheid and white minority rule.
Whilst we respect the right of the media to report without fear or favour, and whilst we have fought for the freedom of the press, we are deeply shocked that the media is elevating these racial bigotries and stereo-types as gospel truth. Whilst the media might improve sales through DA's controversial ratings, they are injecting further pain on the mind and psyche of the historically oppressed people.

We say this fully reminded that media houses like ETV/ENCA have during the last local government elections literally bankrolled and funded the DA's election campaign by renting IPSOS to conduct politically biased surveys against the ANC and its Alliance partners. The renting of IPSOS by ETV is a reality we will never forget, thus bearing testimony to the fact that the media can be captured by narrow political interests as we continue to wonder who finally paid IPSOS.

We commit and rededicate ourselves to fight in the spirit of the words of Nelson Mandela, against white supremacy represented by the DA, and black supremacy and bigotries represented by the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF).
