The South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SACCI) is proud to have hosted H.E. Mr Jacob Zuma as keynote speaker at the opening of the 2012 SACCI Annual Convention. The collaborative exchange between business and government is crucial towards creating ideas for future economic policy. The theme of the 2012 SACCI Annual Convention is job creation and SACCI has invited a host of speakers ranging from senior government officials, business leaders and labour representatives to discuss this pressing matter on the 4th and 5th of October.

At his keynote address Mr Zuma noted that South Africa must create a climate of constructive social dialogue and that social partners must continue to search for opportunities for such collaboration. Mr Zuma noted the National Infrastructure Plan offers a host of opportunities for business both in construction industry and material suppliers and the President also highlighted an array of government initiatives to support the SME sector. In its turn, Mr Zuma said business can perform a priceless service to the economy by absorbing new entrants to the labour market.

SACCI is honoured to have hosted the President of South Africa and is excited about the future possibilities of working together to achieve policy outcomes to the benefit of the whole country.

SACCI is pleased to announce its newly elected office bearers on the 4th of October 2012:
• Mr Clive Manci: President
• Mr Vusi Khumalo: Deputy President
• Ms Sharon Steyn: Vice President
• Mr Brian Daniel: Vice President
• Mr Nico Vermeulen: Treasurer
• Mr Chose Cheou: Past President
