The Minister of Science and Technology Naledi Pandor will from today, 8 October 2009 (as at 24h00) act as President of the Republic until the 10 October 2009 while the President and Deputy President are out of the country on official working visits.
Minister Pandor was sworn in as Acting President by the Deputy Chief Justice Dikgang Moseneke at the Union Buildings on Monday, 5 October 2009.
President Jacob Zuma is in Brazil on a two day state visit whilst Deputy President is departing for Sweden later today for an official working visit.
